Mr Max Hammick complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which he considered to have inaccurately stated that 15 children were expelled from school for sexual misconduct each day, in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.


The complaint was resolved after the PCC negotiated the publication of the following correction:

The headline to an article on 2 April said that an average of 15 children a day are expelled from school for sexual misconduct. As the article made clear, this figure included many children who were only temporarily excluded.
