Mr Simon Tipper, the director of Dyers Bros Ltd, complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which reported the sale of a former boatyard for development. The article had been illustrated with an image of the Dyers Bros boatyard, and the complainant was concerned that readers had been misled into thinking that his boatyard had closed, in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The newspaper had published a correction and apology prior to the complaint being received by the PCC; however, the complainant considered that this was not sufficient to correct the misleading impression.

The complaint was resolved after the PCC negotiated the publication of a follow up article which reported on the continuing operation of the complainant's boatyard.
