Complainant Name:
Mrs Lori and Mrs Chris John

Clauses Noted: 1, 3, 4

Publication: The Sun

Mrs Lori and Mr Chris John complained to the Press Complaints Commission about the conduct of the newspaper's reporter, and an article which they believed was inaccurate and intrusive, in breach of Clauses 1 (Accuracy), 3 (Privacy) and 4 (Harassment) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complainants alleged that the article inaccurately reported the cost of their wedding day, and the duration of their honeymoon. They also claimed that the publication of information about this event intruded into their privacy.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the removal of the online article, and a letter and bouquet of flowers from the newspaper, to apologise for any distress the complainants may have experienced.
