Mr Paul Muschett complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which he considered to have been inaccurate and misleading in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The article reported that ‘two men [had been] arrested' by the police in connection with the reported incident, and that they had been ‘bailed pending further inquiries'. The complainant believed the article misled readers to think that he was still on police bail.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following statement online:

Following our article of 6 March concerning the inquest into the death of Aaron McQueen-Williams, we have been asked to clarify that the two men arrested and bailed after the incident were released without further action.
