Complainant Name:
Keiron Evans

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Sun

Keiron Evans complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had included his photograph in an online slideshow of images entitled "Britain's most wanted crims". The complainant said he was not wanted by police at the time of publication and, as such, the article was inaccurate in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The newspaper explained that it had relied on information from a police press release but accepted that the complainant was no longer an outstanding "wanted" offender. It arranged for the removal of the photograph in question on receipt of the complaint and the matter was resolved on this basis.
