Complainant Name:
Mr Kevin Blunnie

Clauses Noted: 5

Publication: Real People

Mr Kevin Blunnie complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an emotive account of his daughter and granddaughter's death, which he considered to have breached of Clause 5 (Intrusion into grief or shock) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The newspaper responded, apologising to the complainant for the distress the article had caused. The complaint was resolved after the PCC negotiated a private letter of apology for the complainant and his family, as well as a donation to a charity of his choice.
