Colin Ward complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had reported, in a way that he considered misleading to readers in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Code, that fog had caused problems at Newquay Airport.

The newspaper explained that the low cloud in question was on the Isles of Scilly, rather than at Newquay Airport itself, and these weather conditions had impacted upon incoming flights. The online article was removed from the newspaper's website and the complaint was resolved on that basis.
