Complainant Name:
Adele Brand

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Daily Mail

Adele Brand complained that the newspaper had breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The complainant said that the newspaper had published an article which suggested - with no supporting evidence - that wolves may soon return, naturally, to the UK following a sighting in Holland.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper amended the online headline and published the following corrective footnote:

"An earlier version of this article contained a headline that suggested wolves may imminently arrive in Britain. In fact, this is highly unlikely to be the case."
