Complainant Name:
Peter Ellison

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Daily Mail

Peter Ellison complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published an article about an abandoned theme park which contained a number of inaccurate claims regarding incidents that occurred at the site when it was in operation. The complainant believed that Clause 1 (Accuracy) had been breached.

The newspaper has explained that the article was supplied by an agency that, when questioned, was unable to substantiate the assertions in the piece. The newspaper removed the online article and the complaint was resolved on that basis.
