Complainant Name:
Mrs Anne Darwin

Clauses Noted: 1, 3, 4

Publication: Sunday Mirror

Mrs Anne Darwin complained to the Press Complaints Commission about the conduct of the newspaper and expressed concern that it had published a story that had been intrusive and inaccurate in breach of Clauses 1 (Accuracy), 3 (Privacy) and 4 (Harassment) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The complainant said the newspaper had inaccurately reported the details of her prison sentence and employment, and had misleadingly attributed comments to her.

Although the newspaper denied that there was a breach of the Code, the complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the circulation of the complainant's wishes to heads of department that she did not wish to be contacted in future.
