Complainant Name:
A woman

Clauses Noted: 3, 6

Publication: The Star (Sheffield)

A woman complained to the Press Complaints Commission under Clause 3 (Privacy) and Clause 6 (Children) of the Editors' Code of Practice about an article concerning a magistrates' court hearing of the boy's father, a parental rights campaigner facing allegations of vandalism, in which her young son was named. The complainant said that the article had unnecessarily intruded into her child's privacy.

The matter was resolved when the newspaper provided an undertaking that it would not in any future story concerning the boy's father use the complainant's son's name.
