Complaint:

David Watson complained to the Press Complaints Commission via his solicitors that the newspaper had published an article which inaccurately reported that was responsible for introducing a Class A drug to his local area in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following clarification:

DAVID WATSON CLARIFICATION

"In an article on June 30 we reported on David Watson, 27, from Ballycastle following his appearance in court where he admitted offences including possessing heroin. Further to that article, we have been asked to state that David Watson denies an allegation in the report that he introduced heroin into Ballycastle".
