Portsmouth City Council complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published an article reporting that a local primary school had denied pupils water on the hottest day of the year as it was Ramadan. The complainant said this was incorrect in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy).

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper amended the online article to include a full statement from the school's head teacher which made clear to readers that water was available to all pupils, but they were reminded to be respectful of those observing Ramadan.
