A woman complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published an article headlined "Missed chances to halt sex gang" which identified her which she believed was in breach of Clause 9 (Reporting of crime) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

While the newspaper did not accept any breach it acknowledged the impact of its coverage on the complainant and the matter was resolved on the basis of a goodwill payment relating to the copyright of the photograph.
