Mr Jeet Bains complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which he considered to have been inaccurate and misleading in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The article, which reported on the Woolwich terrorist attack, was accompanied by a photograph depicting Sikh people.


The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following apology:

On May 24 on under the headline "Woolwich: Muslim groups unite against attacks" we carried a picture of Sikhs without making that clear in a caption. We apologise for the error.
