A man complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice when it described, inaccurately, the features of the Microsoft One console.


The newspaper explained that it had already amended the online article after it was contacted directly by Microsoft. The matter was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following footnote alongside the article:

"The original article incorrectly stated Microsoft would be charging users a fee to trade in second-hand games and that the console would be turned on permanently. Microsoft had reversed this decision by the time the story was published, yet the incorrect references were left in accidentally. We are happy to clarify that the inaccuracies have been removed."
