Complainant Name:
Laura Clegg

Clauses Noted: 1, 3

Publication: Daily Mail

Ms Laura Clegg complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published inaccurate information in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. She was further concerned that the newspaper had published a photograph of her in breach of Clause 3 (Privacy) of the Code. The complainant said that the article incorrectly claimed that she had uploaded particular photographs of herself onto the internet. In fact, the photos were taken from a friend's private album of birthday party photos.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the removal of the photograph and the disputed claim from the online article.
