Complainant Name: Clauses Noted: 1 Publication: The Economist Complaint: Adam Levick complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors’ Code of Practice. The complainant said that the newspaper had inaccurately reported that a poll carried out by the Anti-Defamation League had sampled the opinion of 'American Jews'. In fact, the poll was based on a sampling of all Americans. Resolution: The complaint was resolved when the newspaper corrected the online article and appended the following note: Correction: We initially stated that the poll by the Anti-Defamation League was of Jewish Americans. In fact, the poll was based on a random sampling of all Americans. That section of the post has been changed. Sorry. Date Published: 19/12/2013 << Go Back |
