Complainant Name:
Ms Lorraine Kordecki

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Daily Mail

Lorraine Kordecki complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published an online article recommending dishwasher salt as a cheap beauty product but has illustrated the piece with an image of dishwasher tablets, which are highly caustic and can burn the skin. The complainant said this was a breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors’ Code of Practice.

The newspaper accepted that the incorrect photograph had been published. It said the error had been promptly noticed by the editor of the relevant section of the newspaper and the image removed before receipt of the complaint via the PCC. The complainant was content with this action and the complaint was resolved on that basis.
