Complainant Name:
Mr Brian Stockbridge

Clauses Noted: 3

Publication: Daily Record

Mr Brian Stockbridge complained through his lawyers to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published information which intruded into his private life in breach of Clause 3 (Privacy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The complainant considered that the newspaper had published sufficient information to make his home readily identifiable to readers. In light of recent threats against the complainant and his home, this was intrusive.

While the newspaper did not consider it had identified the location of the property, it removed from the online article as a gesture of goodwill: the photograph of the house, description of the views from the house, and reference to the owner of a neighbouring house.
