Complaint:

Mr Paul Schofield complained to the Press Complaints Commission, under Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice, that an article published by the newspaper had contained an inaccurate account of doctors' earnings.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved after the PCC negotiated the publication of the following clarification:

Following an article on July 25 which said that middle-grade doctors are on salaries of between £60,000 and £80,000 we are happy to clarify that the mean annual earnings for registrars is £53,173.
