Complainant Name: Clauses Noted: 1 Publication: Daily Mirror Complaint: Mr Moore complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the article was inaccurate in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The complainant was concerned that the article, which reported that all female teachers at a Muslim school were allegedly required to wear a hijab, was accompanied by an image depicting a woman wearing a niqab, but the caption referred to it as a hijab. Resolution: The newspaper believed that the term hijab could encompass a range of clothing for Muslim women and did not consider there was a breach of the Code. The complaint was resolved, however, when the photograph was removed from the online article.
