Publication: Daily Mail

Mrs Lynne Speight complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had accompanied an article about the perceived failings of private bus firm Arriva Transport Solutions with a photograph of a row of St John ambulances, in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the removal of the photograph and the publication of the following footnote:

"An earlier version of this article included a photograph of St John Ambulances with a caption stating, "Blasted: Arriva Transport Solution's ambulance service has been attacked for leaving thousands waiting hours". St John Ambulances are not a part of Arriva Transport Solutions and are not connected to the complaints in the article. We regret any confusion caused and are happy to clarify this."
