Complainant Name:
Mrs Christine Turner

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Telegraph & Argus (Bradford)

Mrs Christine Turner complained to the Press Complaints Commission, under Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice, that the newspaper had published a photograph of her family home, to illustrate a crime report, and inaccurately suggested that her home had been the scene of a murder.

The complaint was resolved on the basis of the publication of the following correction, as well as the deletion of the image from the newspaper's archive, so that it would not be used again in future:

Wrong House

‘In the Telegraph & Argus on Thursday, May 22, a picture was published with a caption which said it was the house where Riley Turner was killed. We can confirm that was not the case.'
