Mr Liam Ryan

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Daily Mail

Mr Liam Ryan complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which he considered to have been inaccurate and misleading in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complainant disputed the number of "victims" listed in the article, as well as the claim that he had offered to give one of them five-thousand pounds.

The article was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following statement:

A feature in January about sexual predators said that Liam Ryan had tricked four women by claiming to be a medical researcher. We have been asked to clarify that Mr Ryan's convictions related to five charges against two victims .
