Complainant Name:
Ms Tracy Lockett

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: That's Life

Ms Tracy Lockett complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the magazine had breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The magazine had published an article about the complainant's experience of being tricked by a man with whom she had formed a relationship after meeting online, and she was concerned that the article contained a number of inaccuracies.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of a correction which read:

"In Issue 26, dated 26 June 2014, we printed the story of Ms Tracy Lockett.

We wish to confirm that her former partner told her that he was a dialysis technician, not a doctor; that he was Kurdish and not Turkish; and that she did not give him £16,000 over the course of their relationship, but rather around £4,500."
