Complainant Name:
Mrs Rachel Howard

Clauses Noted: 1, 2, 3

Publication: Medway Messenger

Complaint:

Mrs Rachael Howard complained to the Press Complaints Commission about two articles which she considered to have been inaccurate and intrusive in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy), Clause 2 (Opportunity to reply) and Clause 3 (Privacy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The complainant disputed the reported claim, that a neighbour had been attacked by her dog. She was concerned that the newspaper had not contacted her before the articles were published, and noted that she had not been the subject of any criminal charges related to the reported incident.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the removal of the online articles.
