Complainant Name:
Ms Camilla Vaid

Clauses Noted: 3

Publication: The Sun

This complaint was originally made to the PCC. As the PCC closed on 8 September the complaint was resolved by the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) under PCC procedures. IPSO is the new independent regulator of the newspaper and magazine industry.

Ms Camilla Vaid complained to the Press Complaints Commission, that the newspaper had published information relating to private photographs, in breach of Clause 3 (Privacy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complaint was resolved after the PCC negotiated the removal of the online article and a private letter of apology for the complainant, which included assurances that the newspaper did not have the photographs on its database and that it had obtained an assurance from the agency, which had the images, that they would not be distributed further.
