Complainant Name:
Mrs Amanda Lloyd

Clauses Noted: 1, 5

Publication: The Sun

This complaint was originally made to the PCC. As the PCC closed on 8 September the complaint was resolved by the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) under PCC procedures. IPSO is the new independent regulator of the newspaper and magazine industry.

Mrs Amanda Lloyd complained to the Press Complaints Commission, under Clause 1 (Accuracy) and Clause 5 (Intrusion into grief or shock) of the Editors' Code of Practice, that an article about her daughter's health was inaccurate and insensitive.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper offered to make a donation to charity, a goodwill payment to the complainant's daughter and to publish a further article about Addison's disease.
