Complainant Name: Clauses Noted: 1 Publication: Daily Mail Complaint: Mr Robert Hale complained to the Press Complaints Commission that an article published on the website of the Daily Mail was inaccurate in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. He said that the article inaccurately claimed that a new type of car could drive around the world, a distance of almost 25,000 miles, on one litre of fuel. He said that it was clear from elsewhere in the article that the car could actually travel 2,072 miles on one litre of fuel. Resolution: The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated amendments to the online article and the addition of a footnote to clarify the situation.
