Complainant Name:
Mr Mike Doherty and Miss Zoe Lee

Clauses Noted: 1, 5, 12

Publication: The Daily Telegraph

This complaint was originally made to the PCC. As the PCC closed on 8 September the complaint was resolved by the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) under PCC procedures. IPSO is the new independent regulator of the newspaper and magazine industry.

Mr Mike Doherty and Miss Zoe Lee complained to the Press Complaints Commission, under Clause 1 (Accuracy), Clause 5 (Intrusion into grief or shock) and Clause 12 (Discrimination) of the Editors' Code of Practice, about an article about the deaths of Miss Lee's neighbours.

The complaint was resolved on the basis of the publication of the following correction:

Gipsy site application, Bosbury

Our report "Gipsy site worries may have driven suicide husband to kill his terminally-ill wife" (Aug 14) wrongly stated that the application for a gipsy camp near Bosbury, Herefordshire, was increased from an initial two families to 10. In fact Zoe Lee's application remains for a single family with two caravans. We are happy to make this clear.
