Unless otherwise stated, they are generally not open to members of the public, but if you have any questions, or would like to suggest an event for the PCC to participate in, you are welcome to contact us.

The PCC's Public Affairs Director will be participating in a roundtable event in Belgrade to discuss the establishment of a Press Council in Serbia. The PC is often called upon to discuss its experience by Press Councils worldwide. Staff from the PCC will be attending and exhibiting at the Citizens Advice Bureau Annual Conference taking place at the University of York. Literature and information will be available about the work of the Commission.

Tuesday 14th of September 2010Citizens Advice Bureau Annual Conference, York

The Chairman and other representatives from the PCC will be holding an evening briefing for members of the Scottish Parliament's Cross Party on Culture and Media at Holyrood. The event forms part of our ongoing work to ensure that elected representatives are fully briefed on the PCC's role and range of service. Will Gore will be delivering a training seminar to media handlers at the MOD's Defence Media Operations Centre. This forms part of our ongoing work with the Ministry of Defence to ensure those working with the media understand the PCC's services.

A PCC representative will be speaking about our work at the Samaritans annual conference. This engagement is part of the PCC's ongoing work with the Samaritans around the reporting of suicide.

The PCC's Public Affairs Director, Will Gore, will be running a seminar about key PCC rulings to students at Kent University BA Journalism course. We work with many Media and Journalism courses throughout the UK to ensure that those entering the profession understand the Commission's thinking.

This year's annual conference of the Alliance of Independent Press Councils of Europe (AIPCE) will take place in Amsterdam. A representative from the PCC will attend and discuss policy developments and key adjudications from 2010. See www.aipce.net for more information about the group's work.
