The events list below highlight the range of speaking engagements undertaken by representatives of the PCC. Unless otherwise stated, they are generally not open to members of the public, but if you have any questions, or would like to suggest an event for the PCC to participate in, you are welcome to contact us.

The PCC's Director, Public Affairs Director and consultant will be running a training seminar for journalists at the Belfast Telegraph.  This is part of our ongoing work to ensure journalists and editors are fully informed about PCC case law and its interpretation of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The PCC's Public Affairs Director will be speaking to journalism students from James Madison University, USA, who are visiting the UK.

Tuesday 23rd of March 2010PCC offices

The PCC's Public Affairs Director will be speaking to journalism students from Central Connecticut University, USA who are visiting the UK.

Thursday 25th of March 2010PCC offices

The PCC's Public Affairs Director will be speaking to journalism students at the University of Central Lancashire to work through a series of case studies and answer questions about the PCC.

The PCC's Public Affairs Director will be speaking to journalism students from Regent's College, London.

Wednesday 31st of March 2010Central London

The PCC's Public Affairs Director will be speaking to journalists from Vietnam, who are visiting the UK, about the work of the PCC.

Tuesday 13th of April 2010PCC offices

Will Gore will be delivering a training seminar to media handlers at the MOD's Defence Media Operations Centre. This forms part of our ongoing work with the Ministry of Defence to ensure those working with the media understand the PCC's services.

The PCC's Public Affairs Director will be speaking to journalism students from the University of Nebraska, who are visiting the UK.

Tuesday 18th of May 2010PCC offices

The PCC's Public Affairs Director will be speaking to members of the West Midlands NHS Communications Network, to discuss the provisions of Clause 8 (Hospitals) and Clause 3 (Privacy), as it relates to medical matters.

Thursday 03rd of June 2010Birmingham

The PCC's Chairman, Baroness Buscombe, will be speaking to members of the Public Relations Consultants Association's Corporate Group. She will explain the work of the PCC to a number of senior executives working in the PR and Public Affairs industries.

Wednesday 09th of June 2010Central London

Will Gore will be taking part in a panel debate organised by the Westminster Legal Policy Forum on 'Libel and privacy law - challenges for reform', speaking about the PCC's work in the area of privacy. The seminar is being chaired by Lord Lester of Herne Hill QC, and there is more information here.

Tuesday 15th of June 2010Central London

The PCC's Public Affairs Director will be speaking at a conference titled 'The future of services for bereaved children: best practice and reform;. He will speak about dealing with possible media intrusion at times of grief, and how the PCC is able to help in the aftermath of a death. This engagement is one of several conferences and seminars we are participating in this year on the subject of bereavement.
