Mr Patrick Ritchie and Mrs Roisin Ritchie of County Armagh complained that the report of an inquest into the tragic death of their son, Shea, was inaccurate – particularly in relation to the headline – and that the coverage had been handled insensitively in breach of Clause 5 (Intrusion into grief or shock).

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper – which believed that its report accurately reflected the proceedings – wrote a private letter to the complainants expressing regret that its article had caused them distress.
