Complainant Name: Clauses Noted: 1 Publication: The Sun Complaint: Chelsea Football Club complained, through Carter-Ruck solicitors, that the newspaper had inaccurately claimed that Chelsea had offered the job of manager to Marco Van Basten. Resolution: The complaint was
resolved when the newspaper, which had carried the club’s denial in the next
day’s edition, as part of another story, published the following correction:
“On September 26 following comments by former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello, we reported Marco Van Basten had been offered the Chelsea manager’s job. We now understand and accept this was not the case and are happy to make this clear”. Report: 76 << Go Back |
