Complaint:

Lembit Opik MP complained that an article had inaccurately stated that he had left his former partner for his current partner. He clarified that his former partner had in fact ended the relationship, a decision that had nothing to do with his subsequent relationship.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved directly between the newspaper and the complainant when the newspaper published the following apology:

In an article in last week's Wales on Sunday headlined 'Weathergirl's book set 'to bury' Lembit' we incorrectly stated that Lembit Öpik ended his relationship with Siân Lloyd when Ms Lloyd ended the relationship.

In addition, we have been asked to make clear that no mention was made by Miss Lloyd of a relationship between Lembit Öpik and Gabriela Irimia as a reason for ending her engagement with Mr Öpik. We are happy to clarify this.
