Complainant Name: Clauses Noted: 1 Publication: Daily Mail Complaint: A man raised concerns over the claim in an article
that a photograph showing Prince William in a Tornado had been taken by a
‘plane spotter’. The complainant said that the idea that anyone could take a photograph
of such a plane and recognise an individual inside it stretched credulity.
Resolution: Although it could not
reveal its source, the newspaper was satisfied that the description of the
photographer as a plane spotter was accurate. The Assistant Editor emphasised
that the same individual had spotted, but failed to photograph, the prince in
the same location the previous day. The complainant was happy to accept this
explanation as a resolution to his concerns.
