Complainant Name: Clauses Noted: 1 Publication: The Sunday Telegraph Complaint: Lembit Opik MP complained that an article had inaccurately suggested that he had 'traded in' his former fiancée for his current partner: in fact, his former fiancée had ended their relationship for reasons unrelated to his subsequent relationship. Resolution: The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published the following clarification: Lembit Opik MP
Mr Opik has asked us to make clear that contrary to
our article (‘Don’t get mad, get married’) on 6 January 2008, Sian
Lloyd broke off their engagementbefore he started his relationship with
Gabriela Irimia.
