Mrs Sue Tripp complained that the newspaper had taken and published a picture of her son at a community education centre without her or her husbandís consent.
The newspaper explained that its photographer had been told by the centre's authorities that photographs could be taken. However, Mrs Trippís son had only recently come to the centre and his parents had not signed a consent form, unlike other parents. The newspaper apologised for the mistake and accepted that it had inadvertently breached the Code of Practice. It agreed to make an ex-gratia payment to the complainantís son in resolution of the complaint.
