Complaint:

Ms Heather Mills complained that the newspaper had inaccurately claimed the following: that she had had another boob job and had spent £1 million on a pool and £6 million on other properties. She made clear that all of these claims were untrue.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper – which had based the claim of cosmetic surgery on a confidential source, and the claims regarding her property on previous articles that had not been complained about – removed the article from its website and published the following correction:

Following our article on 16 November which stated that Heather Mills had recently had a third boob job, Heather Mills has asked us to point out that she has not had breast enlargement surgery. Furthermore, we wish to clarify that Ms Mills has not spent £1 million on a swimming pool and has not spent £6 million on other properties.
