PCC resolves privacy complaints from England manager PCC resolves privacy complaints from England manager The PCC has resolved complaints from the Football Association on behalf of England Manager Fabio Capello and his wife. On Thursday 17th September, Mr Capello and the Football Association had circulated to editors, via the PCC, concerns about the presence of photographers during his holiday. On Sunday 20th September, the News of the World published images of Mr Capello and his wife on a beach. On the following Monday, the Daily Mail published similar photographs. Both newspapers accepted that internal procedures - warning of Mr Capello's concerns - had failed and that the pictures were published in error. Following complaints, they have apologised to the Capellos, given undertakings for the future, and - at the request of the Capellos - made substantial donations to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. The complaints have been amicably resolved on that basis. 23/9/09 << Go Back |
