Kamena Dorling of the Migrant Children's Project complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had improperly and inaccurately used the word "refugee" to refer to economic migrants.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper, which did not accept that the article had raised a breach of the Editors' Code, nonetheless agreed following the complaint to the PCC to change the reference from "refugees" to "asylum seekers" in the online version of the article.
