A married couple complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had quoted them in a misleading context in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code and intruded into their private lives in breach of Clause 3 (Privacy) of the Code.

The newspaper did not accept that it had breached the Code. Nonetheless, the matter was resolved when the Commission negotiated the removal of the article from the newspaper's online archive.
