Jane Watkins complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had persistently questioned her in a manner that breached Clause 4 (Harassment) of the Editors' Code of Practice and published an inaccurate account of her comments that breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) and Clause 3 (Privacy) of the Code.

The newspaper did not accept that it had breached the Code on this occasion. However, it had no wish to upset the complainant. The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the permanent removal of the article from the newspaper's website.
