Complainant Name: Clauses Noted: 1 Publication: The Scottish Sun Complaint: Mrs Lorna Leckie complained on behalf of Mr Mark Laird that the newspaper had published an article reporting on Mr Laird's activities on Twitter during his recovery following a shooting incident which contained inaccuracies and was misleading, in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. Resolution: The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following clarification and the removal of the online article: In a report on January 20 and headlined ‘Shooting Stars', we incorrectly stated that Mark Laird set up a Twitter account to tell celebrities of his survival from gunshot wounds.
