Miss Julie Lomath complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) in a comment piece about dangerous dogs. She was concerned that the newspaper had printed an image of her white American bulldog with a caption which suggested that it was a Staffordshire bull terrier. She also questioned where the newspaper had acquired the image.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following apology and the newspaper offered to make a donation to a charity of the complainant's choice:
