1. Lord Hunt's submission to the Leveson Inquiry

A submission to module 4 of the Leveson Inquiry by the Chairman of the PCC, Lord Hunt, has now been published on the Inquiry's website. The submission can be read here. The Inquiry is now considering submissions on the future regulatory regime, following its publication of Draft criteria for an effective regulatory regime.

2. PCC complainant feedback figures

The PCC has today published the results of its complainant satisfaction survey for the second quarter (April-June) of 2012. The PCC has surveyed those who use its services since 2002. The publication of these results is a performance objective of the PCC to which it has publicly committed. To read the results, please click here.

3. Appointment of new Independent Reviewer

Professor Robert Pinker CBE has been appointed from 1 July as the Independent Reviewer for the Press Complaints Commission. He replaces Lieutenant General Sir Michael Willcocks following completion of his three-year term. The Independent Reviewer investigates concerns from complainants about how their complaints were handled. More information about the Independent Reviewer's role can be found here.
