Migrants Resource Centre, on behalf of Mr Salvatore Quero, complained to the Press Complaints Commission about the publication of an article which Mr Quero considered to have breached Clauses 1 (Accuracy) and 12 (Discrimination) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The article, which included a photograph of the complainant, inaccurately stated that he was a 41 year old father of seven.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following apology:

In a story headlined ‘Greedy Bulgars' (Sept 11^th) Salvatore Quero, a single Italian man, was identifiable in a photograph as part of a Bulgarian family claiming benefits. We are happy to clarify that Mr Quero is not a member of the family and was simply providing them with food.
