Mr Bruce Elliott complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which he considered to have inaccurately stated that two-thirds of millionaires had left Britain following the introduction of a 50p tax rate. In fact the statistical drop in the number of people earning an annual income of over £1m reflected not just those who had left the country but those who had reduced their taxable incomes through "forestalling".

The complaint was resolved after the PCC negotiated the publication of the following correction, published alongside the amended article online:
