Complainant Name: Clauses Noted: 5 Publication: The Daily Telegraph Complaint: Papyrus, the charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide, complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published an article which contained excessive detail about the method of a suicide in breach of Clause 5 (ii) of the Editors' Code of Practice. Resolution: The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the removal of the reference from the online article and the publication of the following footnote, apologising to the mother of the deceased: When this article was first posted it included detail about the method of suicide.
